Active Minds is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting mental health, especially among young adults, via peer-to-peer dialogue and interaction. Active Minds was founded by Alison Malmon in 2003, after her older brother died by suicide in 2000. ASU Active Minds Chapter and the Office of Counseling & Student Accessibility Services will host this event to promote Suicide Prevention Awareness. Send Silence Packing encourages people to seek out helpful resources for themselves, friends, or loved ones. To share the importance of knowing the signs of suicide, intervening when a friend is in distress, and getting help for themselves when needed. The Spring Fling will also include health and wellness resources, vendors, activities, games, and more. It promises to be an inspiring and rejuvenating experience for all attendees.
