Job Description
ature of Work: Patrols the campus on foot, golf carts or in a patrol car to maintain campus safety. 
Will be crosses trained as a dispatcher. Will be required to work as a dispatcher if needed.  
Training and Experience: High School equivalent required. Must be able to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) and communicate effectively and routinely draft police administrative reports. Must be at least 20 years of age. Be able to prepare and make oral presentations to Albany State University campus community. Must successfully complete four weeks of basic patrol procedure training which includes qualifying with the expandable baton and OC Spray qualification. Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license. 

Must complete the GCIC/NCIC dispatcher requirement with the first 2 months of being hired.  
Illustrative Examples of Work: Patrols the campus on foot, golf carts or in a patrol car to maintain campus safety. Answers calls for service involving parking violations, fire, traffic, accidents and provides security for all campus activities, (football games, basketball games track and fields, etc.). Performs dispatcher duties on an as needed basis. Utilizes the police radio to receive dispatches calls for service quickly, efficiently and accurately. Performs the functions of first responders including CPR, fire notification or any life threatening situations. Provides various types of public service and assistance to students, faculty, staff and visitors. Performs other duties as required.
