DESCRIPTION:The Citizen's Police Academy is 12-weeks (includes graduation) designed to give citizens working knowledge of the Albany Police Department. Each session consists of evening classes held at the Law Enforcement Center in Downtown Albany. Each week separate areas of the Police Department are covered. Forensics\, Use of Deadly Force\, Firearms\, Albany Dougherty Drug unit\, Patrolling\, and Traffic are examples of some of the topics that are covered. Instruction consists of lectures\, demonstrations\, tours\, and four hour a ride a long with an officer.
